Greetings
Today at Work I meet a Gentel man that Had Airforce Command Wings on his Cap He was a elderly man (85) But honestly not looking much older than in his late sixty's Any way struck up a conversation with him ask what he flew His Reply the B-36! Ah the Big Stick I replied He was astonished that I knew that nick name. He went on to tell me that He Flew in WW2 in the closing days in the Nose of a B-24 took up flying in a T-6 then a B-25 then a B-29 for training for the B-36 then B-47 and ended if carear fying C-130's Wow I was blown away . Retired Col Joseph Harrison went on to say that if the B-36 was still flying during Viet Nam It would of made Linebacker II or rolling Thunder look like Joke . He is going to bring in his flight logs for me to drool over next week. To men like Him and many others I say thank you for your service !
