This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Could've been quite the aircraft with the R-2800.

Now thats what I'm talking about! I bet a medium sized production of the Willow would be affordable and fun to fly. But there would be some work involved.

Westland Whirlwind!
you know it would be difficult, but it could probably use merlins instead of peregrines, and it would be quite unique as it is an unfamiliar type.

Not sure what these are but would be very interesting to see up close

Years ago there was a WIX "syndicate" primarily of UK members that was discussing building a Whirlwind.

Oooooh! Two biggies for me: P-40Q would be sweeeet, and I'd love to see even a static "mock-up" of the CA-11 Woomera. Vintage (but not warbird): a Bell Model 30 helo. Mmmm that thing was lovely! Great shape.
For curiosity's sake, an Airacuda or Airabonita would be interesting! But I think it would be amazing to turn up at Oshkosh and see a nice, shiny XP-40Q on the flightline...
