Dragon Wings Fw 190D-9 photo

Hi modelers,

Scott's welcome invites all types of models so I thought I would show you my new 1/72 diecast. This is a pretty nice model although I will need to buy some decals for the tail markings.

I have been collecting diecasts for about the last 18mos and have been and will likely again be a plastic kit builder. Though my skills are not up the the standards shown on this forum.

Your comments are welcome.

Ron

Thanks Ron, I collect Die Cast as well since I cannot paint at all and so most of my models are undecorated.

Do you like the Dragon line? I haven't tried them sticking mainly with Corgi so far.

Wow Ron that's a pretty good looking FW-190. The diecasts have really come a long way recently. I have a few diecasts also but am mainly a plastic kit build guy when I can find time. If you have any more share away. I love seeing all the latest and greatest.

Ollie, Scott, and Dave,

Thanks for your comments.

I have the Dragon Wings P-51D, Zero, Bf 109G, and now Fw 190D. All are a mixture of WOW! and why-did-they-do-that? I look forward to each new release and hope that they will get it all together. All, so far, have offered opening canopies, which I like.

The Fw 190D, in addition to missing the tail markings (a considered decision no doubt) is also missing the headrest assembly. I think it should have a headrest anyway.

I will try to send along photos of the other types, although it may not be this week.

Regards,

Ron

I've just ordered one of those Fw190... the Dragon 1/72 diecasts have definately got the edge over the equivilent corgi model, a bit less toy-like.

The FW-190D's missing headrest is strange since the Dragon Wings Mustangs and Zeros do have headrests. As you know I have the DW Fw-190D that was released after yours with the black/white vertical stripe on the rear fuselage and they didn't add the headrest for their newer releases of this model.

die cast models

very comprehensive & accurate detail, but back to the old dumb swastika issue again with the manufactorur not being able to accurately portray the plane with the needed symbol, due to some european countries trying to sanitize the nazi attrocities. guess you'll have to hit the hobby store for swastika decals. i believe in model accuracy & authenticity with a capital A!! tom

wouldn't it be smarter to just put the swastikas in the box and not on the aircraft? or have a number you ring to get them sent to you or similar? but that'd be too simple for some of these places I guess eh?

jeffrey, great idea!! would solve the sticky swastika issue by not being seen by the general public until model owner got the plane home & applied decals, but that probably makes to much sense for the european model companies!!

When Ron says he's been collecting Die Cast for the last 18 mo's, he forgot to mention that he's built up quite an impressive air force in that time, not just a few here and there.

Maybe Ron will post one of his pictures of his nice air/navy force collection for all to see?

Roger,

My museum has acquired a cat. Catzilla is 50' high at the shoulder and I have temporarily moved most of my small collection to safer storage. A photo may be possible after things get put back together.
