Hales Corners question

Was there ever a P-39 or P-63 on display there?

According to Les Hunts V&V Aircraft 1974

P-39Q-15-BE N57591, 44-32533 loaned from NASM.
He asks is there two P-39s there as EAA list quoted 44-2433, but looking at the number it can't be correct.

I remember a clipped wing ex-air racer P-39.

According to the Warbirds Directory the plane at Hales Corner is the old racer Charles Bing flew at Cleveland. Later donated or traded to the NASM. Seems there was some confusion regarding the serial # which might be the reason for Hunt's listing of two (possible) aircraft.

The WIX registry has it under 44-2433. I found a picture from a school trip in the early 70's and noticed a P-39 type gear door, but didn't photograph the entire aircraft. I remember they used to have the Chicago MSI Stuka there as well.

The P-39 there was a Q model. It was a racer and I remember that it was flown by a lady pilot who's name escapes me. The name on it, "Galloping Gerdie", was the name of it when she flew it and was retained when it was painted OD.

That Aircraft is in Niagara falls NY, I have several shots. I guess it is on Loan from the NASM
