My Spitfire arrived back at Ft. Collins Wed. The experts at QG Aviation, Ray, Tim, and Ross went to Galveston to load it on the truck, with the help of John and the Lone Star folks. I know WIX guys would be interested in seeing this, and offered to help, but they preferred less people. Les Chapman Transport is very experienced in moving similar aircraft and the plane has been unloaded at the shop. I flew it out of that airport after it's annual about 3 years ago, sure did not expect to see it return this way, but anyway it is as safe as we can make it now. We are out of hurricane country, but there was a big tornado 20 miles away last month.
I don't have any estimate of time or cost to repair, except a lot of both. Ray and I haven't even discussed this yet in any detail.. It's be a big emotional shock and we have just gone one step at a time. I had planned to go to Galveston, but in the end I didn't. I've not heard anymore about the accident report.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

Bill, glad to hear that it's closer to home. Good luck with the rebuild.
