Any idea where in TX? Would be neat to go see.

Don't forget (my personal favorite!) the FG-1D now owned by Vintage Wings of Canada... soon to change apparently.

I actually have no idea Ryan. I read it went to Texas, but not sure which part. I'd actually be interested to here where the Spitfire went to and how it is getting on. It is one of the most gorgeous restorations and beautiful aeroplanes you'll ever see. It's owned by the bloke who owns Glacier Girl.

Though it's not strictly accurate, as it is missing Johnny Houlton's good luck pink elephant artwork. Probably because the canopy arrangement means the front canopy is where the art should be.

While not WWII, the Collings Foundation UH-1E was flown in Viet Nam by VMO-2 and VMO-6. It is accurately painted. We have a few things left to add but we are waiting for photo confirmation.

What about the B-25 "Briefing Time?" I remember back in the 80s they made a big deal about how she was a combat vet in her original markings.

See this thread for the Corsair:

http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... highlight=

As for Briefing Time, I met Gene Fisher and his crew at McGuire AFB around 1980 in what may have been their first year of airshows. I was probably 11 years old at the time and couldn't believe I was seeing a real B-25! Gene allowed me to crawl through the airplane - something the crew told my parents he'd never usually allow.

Yes, for some reason he let folks believe that she was the real BT, however I think the MAAM hasn't tried to perpetuate that myth any longer. I'm glad the truth is out and I will always be thankful to Mr Fisher for his generosity. MAAM is to be commended for the level of restorative detail they've put in the plane (top turret, Clayton stacks, slim carb intakes, etc.) regardless.

Ken
