I just came back from an outing in the countryside and came across an instument that was labled on its data plate "Air Flow Indicator" made by ac delco?

The seller said it came from a P-51 and wanted $18.

My question is " is this for real"? Anyone heard of this instrument?

I have been thinking, could this be for the oxygen system? It has a single brass fitting in the rear for, I assume, an air line ( "t'd" from the main line?)

Also it on the data plate it mentions it was made by a division of General Motors. I think GM only made aircraft parts durring the war? Nicht War?

GM made aircraft, Eastern Aircraft division, made FM-2 Wildcats and TBM Avengers. their guide light division made M-3 grease guns, plus the normal trucks.

One of their divisions made .50 machine guns- I think it was their transmission division. They're still floating around in the inventory... I used to use them in the 1990's in the Army National Guard. I always signed out the ones with WWII dates...

There was a "Airflow Indicator" gauge on the glider I used to fly. It was a string attached to the outside of the canopy
