1st Annual F86 Sabre and Mig 15 jet airshow

Thu May 22, 2008 4:39 am

Weve had the Mustang, Corsair, soon to be Kittyhawk roundups .. so lets start a Jet theme airshow.

I am proposing there be a F-86 and Mig-15 round up in the States sometime this season.

Anyone like to help get this ball rolling? What would be needed?

Where is a good spot for the fleet to gather and gossip over a drink?

Mid West? West Coast East Coast?

Could this be acheived ?

How many F86 and Mig jets could we get to fly formation maybe?, even better dogfight :) ahh the old days of airshows!

I would LOVE to see it - but highly unlikley that it could happen this year for at least a couple of reasons:

1. It's TOO late in the air show season this year.
2. The cost of fuel would probably make it prohibitive.

Also a couple of Sabres that might be available for shows this year are not flying currently - the one's normally flown by Dale Snodgrass and Ed Shipley (hopefully Dale will have one flying by September).

Hopefully at Thunder Over Michigan or some other site we will see a large jet warbird themed show someday (F-86 Sabres, MiG-15s/17s/21s), T-33s, A-4s, FJ-4B, F9F Panther  , F-100s, F-104s, F-4s etc.). But this will not be this year.
