Finishing up my PT-22 and I am in need of at least one bubble compass.
I have one but the glass is broke so for that one I either need the glass or somewhere to make it new.
The correct compass is made by one of these
Pioneer
Bendix
or Coleman
Type B-9
If I can't find the correct type then I would still try any other bubble compass that might look close.
Thanks
Mike

Mike,
I've got a five gallon bucket full of odd ball 30s & 40s instruments including four or five compasses but I'm not sure there are any B-9s. These are flood victims from the 1993 "Aquatic Adventure" at Creve Coeur Airport. They have been soaking in Kerosene for over ten years so the glass is probably the only thing that's any good. I'm going down to work on the Stearman Friday evening so I'll have a look.

Mike,
Welcome to Uncle Al's Kerosene Coated Compass Junkyard. B-15s, B-16s, B-17s and a few others. Some of these have no P/N or type visible. What does a B-9 look like?

FWIW here’s a Kollsman 758. Even though it’s been overhauled, the markings have yellowed.
This one was destined for an aircraft we no longer have, so I’m not really looking to get rid of it, for sentimental reasons.
