I don't normally like to promote myself like this, but I thought some of you might enjoy these photographs that I took over the past couple of years. Vintage Wings of Canada just did a profile on some of my work (they'll be doing one on Airic soon!), and it was kind of exciting to be rewarded this way. I hope you enjoy the images. Many, many thanks to Vintage Wings for this honor.

All the best,
Richard

Looks like that photo was taken out of a TIME magazine from 1942! :D

Nice work Richard. I saw your write up a few days ago and loved it. Some very nice looking retro images.

Cheers,

Eric

Many, many thanks guys... I really appreciate that. It's been wonderful having the opportunities to do this work, and I have a lot of people to be grateful to... particularly Larry Kelley. Without his support and enthusiasm I'd never have had a chance to do any of it. Mike Potter as well as Jerry Yagen and his pilots have been terrific as well. Hopefully I will get more opportunities in the coming years.

Cheers,
Richard

Simply beautiful photos Richard. You have a really great knack of capturing dramatic scenes, and great skyscapes - some of those cloud formations make super backdrops. I'll bet you're proud of those shots.

I particualrly like the Wildcat, Avenger, Catalina and Dauntless re-enactor photos and the silouette of the two aircraft in the thunderstorm sunset, wow!

Do you remember what the BBC programme was called about Midway? Did you get to see it in the end?

Also you mentioned the Wildcat has non-folding wings. I have never heard of such a variant before, was this a production variant (perhaps for operational training)? Or was it something done in the modern day restoration?

Congrats! Since my day job is as an art director, I can tell you with extreme confidence that your work is excellent. The Wildcat shot blows me away.
