Get there early and get your hot-ramp shots before the crowds show up and they close the hot-ramp. your other option is to stay late and get the shots after the show (Saturday only).

If you have good filters for the air shots you'll want them. It's going to be warm which usually means a bit of haze.

You'll be shooting into the light, in very hazy conditions. I find I get the best shots from either the far left or far right end of the crowdline. Takeoff and landing shots are not usually up to much, due to the haze and proliferation of powerlines in the background. Not one of the easier places to shoot at, but worth it due to to the variety of interesting aircraft Chino always seems to attract.

And I'd agree with Cindy's suggestion of getting there early and getting out onto the hot ramp before it gets too busy (they usually close it around 10.00).

OK...Haze filters. Last time I was there, I had haze filters on all my lenses and my pictures still sucked. Sound like camera problem or operator problem?

The haze was particularly bad last year. Not much you can do about in those circumastances, unfortunately. :(

Sunny and 97 on Friday, 92 on Saturday and 90 on Sunday in the forecast. Sounds like lots of haze since there won't be a Santa Ana condition.

If you shoot a Canon, check out www.photography-on-the.net or look for Victor the Great at the show. Good luck and post what you get....
