Dyess was a bit unorganized even for a military show. Lots of dead air time. The warbirds did well; however this show concentrated on modern militaty and acro acts. Tora did their "thing" and did well as usual. Other warbirds flying were B-17, B-25 and SB2C.....There were a couple more; unfortunately I was trying to keep kids from climbing in and out (and on) of the O-2 with sticky fingers and kinda missed a bit of that part....LOL Spooky and I were on static...maybe next year we can also include Nam in the show. The B-1s were impressive and showcased as you would assume. Show probably was great for the spectator that just wanted to see static displays. However as a flying show it was a bit disjointed and "slow."

I was there Sunday...Great show!

I sure missed not seeing the F-4 - The announcer said there was a family emergency for the pilot.

The Tora show was a good time as always. First time I had seen the Falcon Flight...a bunch of guys doing a good job of formation flight in Van's RV's. Jet powered Glider, the Vietnam show was great stuff!

My only squawk is that the Blastards left the grass burning and the light winds let the smoke hang over the crowd for the remainder of the show...made for some eyeball discomfort and the F-16 was hard to shoot...of course that's no big worry since it doesn't have a propeller and is not very cool...

I have not been to a small town airshow in quite a while...this was a fine example on how to do it right.

Great Show!

I got to say high to Rick Sharpe and missed Lady O-2...saw you heading into the briefing room....spoke to a few Tora guys and the Huey crew.

some pics..

Unfortunately, I was working this weekend, seems like I'm always working.... but I digress..... However, WIX'er Steve Rister was at the Dyess show.... Tora was there, SB2C, B-25 Yellow Rose, B-17 Thunderbird, and Mike Burke flying the Cavanaugh P-40. Of course, Spooky and a llttle 'ol O-2 was in attendance to round things out.. Steve may post some pics under a Dyess Title....... Alan

the smoke was not our fault, the fire truck ran out of water! If you think you had eye discomfort, we used a lot of water on our eyes over the weekend! We don't like leaving it burning, but we had to be back, as well as the fire truck before VIPER showed up. There is to be no movement in that area during the VIPER demo. With that being said though...it was a very good show.

Fly safe,
