Did anyone else watch this? I loved it - not having served I thought it gave a "real" life point of view - any other other input? Jack??

Tom I tried to stay up & watch it, but I faded away. (Mondays come real early for me) I really enjoyed "the in your face" style they used in making this. Boy that XO was pi$$ed about that "chemlight" in the water. :badpc: Good show!

I hit it a few times channel surfing last night, but couldn't really get into it at the time... It did look interesting- have to keep an eye out for it again sometime.

That's my boat! But I could only watch the first 15 minutes because 4:30 AM comes too early.
I'd like to see it in it's entirety. It looked pretty good although my Nimitz had no women on it and the associated issues. I nevered figured out the XO's cleaning time :?: We always had sweepers. "Sweepers-sweepers man your brooms! Give the ship a clean sweep down fore, aft and amid ships. The fantail is closed for dumping. The incinerator is closed for dumping -open for burning. The smoking lamp is lit in all authorized spaces. Now Sweepers!"

Jack - now I know what you did - one the folks they follow is a "red shirt" - for me anyway it is really interesting to see and think about a "floating High School". Had never thought about a point the Captain made - that most enlisted folks make less than $7 an hour when you factor in all the time they put in.

For the 91 IO/Persian Gulf Cruise it was usually 12-18 and up to 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I made $1127/month + seapay and hazardous duty pay. About #1300/month. 18/day x 7 x month = 540 hours.
$1300 / 540= $2.40/hr  :?

but lest we forget you were serving your country's needs and that is worth more than a simple paycheck...

Jack, what are the guys who wear brown shirts? My stepbrother does that.

Booty Call Mombassa...

Watched the first two episodes last night and Pearl looked beautiful with the boat slipping in framed by the cloud covered mountains.

Thanks for doing what you did Jack... If ever we meet the first round is on me.

Jack were you ships company or Airwing? I was out there also for Desert Storm, onboard the USS.Ranger CV61, but with the AirWing CVW2 and VAW116 maintaining the E2C Hawkeye.

Can't be. I must be mistaken and he's wearing some other shirt. Jakes not...someone you would trust with a whole aircraft all at once :P
