I have flown that N2S many times when it was owned by Jack Parker here in Connecticut. Back in the 1980's it was painted in Blue and Yellow Air Corps markings, but he knew what he had and was at the right place at the right time.
He made the trade for another Stearman and the Navy Museum got Bush's N2S. It was neat because it still had the WWII style Navy Hand mic to talk back and forth.

It's a little weird to thank that one of the aircraft I've flown is now in a museum! (I'm not THAT old!)

Seven to Eigth years ago I got to go back into the restoration hanger and onto the outdoor flight-line, some good work related connections, and the Coronado was in the shop then; is it still under restoration?

If I'm not mistaken I think that particular Coronado had soemthing to do with transporting Adm. Nimitz to Tokyo Harbor for Japan's formal surrender. Is this right or have I imagined this?

I'll get a pic of it up for you, I was checking it out. I didn't realize you had a tie to it.

Thanks, I could actually live in Pensacola. It was a great town, very clean. The people there all seemed very friendly.

Great pics!

I shot over 700 when I was there three years ago. I found it actually better than the NMUSAF in some respects..lighting is better, and there is much better access to the aircraft. The balcony also gives you a much better view of the hanging birds. Good to see the planes damaged by Hurricane Ivan are being repaired..when I was there several were looking pretty beat up.

Getting to see the Blues practice over their home field is awesome as well.

The USS Alabama Museum's aircraft are looking much better. I was there five weeks before Katrina..the Tomcat was outside and looking very tattered. Have they begun repairs on the Kingfisher yet (and did you get any pics?)

I was lucky enough not to see any snakes, thank god. I hate snakes, and sticks that look like snakes. I can deal with the hurricanes I think. Then again I say that now.
