At the risk of jinxing the trip down... we plan on having Ruff Stuff at the Lone Star Flight Museum Airshow 4/26-27... come on down and see it.

That's great news!! I've been hoping they'd get her somewhere close to
driving range here in Texas...glad it's going to be only a 20 minute drive! :D
I've been wanting to hear what a "real" P-38 sounds like since she flew...the
short Osh video clip of Ruff Stuff on you tube has been my only sample. Really
Great News! Thanks for the headsup Gunny! :D

She is one sharp looking P-38. Is there any chance to get it, Glacier Girl and the POF P-38 together at Oshkosh?

I doubt that POF will bring 23 Skidoo to Osh.... but I'm hoping Rod will bring GG to LSFM... keep your fingers crossed.

Skidoo was at OSH in either 2005 or '06, so never say "never".

I guess I'm even more curious as to whether Tom Blair and "Putt Putt Maru" (or whatever she's called now) will be out and about to airshows this summer. Anybody got the skinny?

So, Gunny, are you going to be the lucky person to be flying it down there? Will this be your first airshow in the bird?

Are you checked out to do flyby's and/or aerobatics during the airshow, or are you just a ferry pilot?

Yes to all but aerobatics... I don't think we'll ever do aerobatics with the airplane for a show... rolls at some point... but I'll fly it in the show and do photo passes...

Excellent! That will be fun! :) Any chance you might be able to bring a digital camera and take some pictures from the cockpit while you make your cross-country jaunt? That plus a trip report on what it's like to fly the P-38 across the country would make an extremely interesting post here! Other than you, I don't believe we've had anybody give any first hand reports of flying the P-38 since the formation of this forum!
