We wandered around before the awards banquet for Sun N Fun looking at the cool stuff that Kermit has. It was nice to see the Martin B-26 out in the open.

I painted the 26 back in 91 on the ramp at Chino in front of our hangar.Ha! It still looks great. It has finally started to fade and looks great. Its funny, the paint has been on that bird longer than any 26 was in service.A large number of people had a hand in that airplane over the 25 or so years it took to rebuild it.Congrats to all of them.

Those two nose-on shots of the B-26 really show what "short-wing" means! No wonder they called them the Flying Prostitute. Great pictures, thanks for putting them up.

I heard she was called the Baltimore Whore...because she had no visible means of support!

Yup, "One a day in Tampa Bay"!

I got to fly an Aerostar once upon a time, and it seemed to have been designed by the same people that engineered the early Marauders, but with much less horsepower.

Was the Marauder just outside for a photo op, or are there possible plans to get her flying again?

The B-26 and the B-25 were pulled out to make room for the awards banquet. I imagine they were put back inside the next day.

Terry and I are planning on going to Pacific Coast Dream Machines. See you there.

The rest of Fertile Myrtle is in storage with Kermit's other B-29 airframes at Aerotrader's storage facility near Borrego Springs, Southern California...very Southern California.

Does anyone close to Fantasy of Flight know which projects are currently receiving attention? I'm also curious about Phase II(?) of the museum's facilities. When I was there three or so years back, they were just breaking ground for it. Can't wait to make it back in person. 8)

That B-29 makes me sick every time I see a picture of it. What a waste...
