being a business owner for a long time and partners in other businesses I have learned over the years that the best way to keep your business alive is to practice honorably and honestly. If you have a problem with one particular client / customer, your best approach is to listen carefully to the clients concerns / objections / complaints in a constructive, not defensive way, and if the issue of concern cannot be resolved, and if the issue is somewhat valid, then it's in the business owners best interest to cut his losses and refund, return, re-build etc. This seems the approach that Tim and his company took. Personally I have no interest in knowing what the problem was or who it was with because as Tim has stated, there's always two sides to every story and this forum seems not the place for that. But I do also understand that some folks would like to hear the basics of the story for various reasons. But again I think a simple PM from Tim to those who are interested, if both parties are respectful, would be the way to go. I cannot state enough that it is very dangerous to post business complaints on an open forum where it is much too easy for confusion and speculation about very intimate business ventures that frankly are none of our business. It only takes one grumpy person to post something negative about a good intentioned person's business for thousands to think to stay away from that business, look what's happened already?, I've never heard of Midwest Texans until now, and to hear about them in a negative way sticks in peoples minds no matter how many awards you win. I'm glad to see so many good folks here come to the rescue. Tim sounds like a good guy. Business complaints are to be kept private and in confidentiality, that's always been a "business 101" lesson. If a complaint becomes valid with no positive result or repair, then that's when you acquire a lawyer and contact the BBB and move forward. But please folks, try to stay clear of business complaints on an open forum, no matter what open forum, .... It's the quickest form of business suicide. No one wins and the business owner always loses. I've seen this happen before and the business never recovered, no matter who was right or wrong.

My 2 pennies. ... :(

I just got back from the awards banquet for Sun N Fun at Kermit’s place and I can confirm that Tim's T-6G did indeed take home the Grand Champion post WWII award.

For what it is worth; the few issues that I saw on the aircraft at Oshkosh have been fixed and she looks real good. Tim was very forthcoming and open about the controversy. He told me his side of the story and it sounds like he took great care of his customer by buying the aircraft back. I don’t recall ever hearing a company, especially in Warbirds, going to such lengths to satisfy their customer.

Well done Tim on backing up your work and winning the Grand Champion award.

Gaawwd, I love the irony...Grand Champion! A perfect finale to this thread! 8)
Congratulations Tim!!! :D

I'm new to WIX, and have really enjoyed all the warbird pics and discussions, but this thread did seem to have taken a left handed turn. All I can ad is if Tim Tim needs a passange in this T-6 or any other Bird that looks that GOOD. Please call me. I'd love to go along.

I swear I saw a fly land on its wing, take off, and then someone came screaming over, and wiped down the area...

There is a difference between a clean aircraft, and one that is well maintained... I think it is called "being anal-retentive" or "obsessive compulsive" I'd rather see one in good, cleaned shape than one in hyper clean "Mr. Monk and the Clean Room" disinfected and hermetically sealed...

How can you have any real fun in something that clean! I mean, how can you get the full WWII flying experience while flying inverted, without getting hit in the face by the dirt no one(in their right mind) can get to?... lol..

Robbie,

How would you treat your 300 thousand dollar investment?
