Can anybody help me out with some B/W Douglas XF3D and F3D Skyknight (1950-1954) images for a book I'm writing? I have about a dozen color images. Below is a link to one of the images I'll be using courtesy of the National Museum of Naval Aviation

Thanks for responding,

I may be able to use it in the color section. I need it scanned at least 300dpi

Check with the Quonset Air Museum. They have one that I saw a couple of years ago. At that time it was in pieces.

Hey BDK, where in Lakewood? I grew up near Palo Verde and Carson. I used to spend a lot of time riding my bike to LB muni to watch the planes take off and land. I still remember all the Connie tails hanging over the embankment as you went through the tunnel under the runway. My friend Danny and I used to crawl inside the F3D when it was still on the ground and play fighter pilot but then someone got smart and stuck it on a pole.

Here are three photos of the F3D-1 124598 on display at Pensacola NAS, taken at various times.

East side of Woodruff between Carson and Del Amo. Henrilee St. is the actual cross street.
