We now have 4 ex-airline guys with us, most walked away with nothing.

Well, I did walk away with six weeks pay for almost seven years of service. I think most other airlines had a better severance package than that.

I miss working for Delta, but don't miss the worrying about when/if I was going to be furloughed. Come to think of it, I don't miss working midnights either.

Orvis,

I'm glad you are set up with the school you selected. I did a bunch of my A&P schooling at night as well, and worked at a little flight school during the day. Keep us posted!

I just finished my first night. YEEEHAAA!!!!

Three hours of Airframe and Three hours of General down, 1914 hours to go.

It's a very cool class. Almost everyone there is an aircraft owner going for an A&P for themselves. It was a lot of fun shooting the breeze about airplanes and flying and Metalurgy and Rules.

Thanks again Everyone for the advice.

Good for you, Orvis!

That seems like quite a concept--people getting an A&P license who actually like airplanes! During my time at the license mill, there was only one other person in the class who cared a whit about aircraft of any kind. The balance of them were there after being laid off from the oil industry and were just looking to get a job with the fattest paycheck in town. Nothing more, nothing less. I still deal with people carrying that attitude today. :?

Enjoy your studies!
