This forum is for discussions pertaining to Air Racing and Aerobatics of NON-Warbird aircraft. In addition this is the place to discuss General Aviation aircraft topics and yes Michael, that includes flying Lawnmowers

I can't find the T-6 on the EAA approved list of auto fuel STCs
but the T-6
is on the approved list of airframes for the Petersen auto fuel STCs:

For those aircraft engines that were originally designed for 80/87 fuel, I
agree running Mogas would be beneficial (compared to running 100LL,
which has 4 times the lead in it than what was originally specified with
80/87 fuel).
How's the Mogas fuel truck coming along?
My winter re-paint project (C-180) is almost complete (should have
it flying in the next couple of weeks).

Unfortunately slower than anticipated. It should have gotten painted today. I played hooky though and took my girlfriend skiing for her spring break. Fresh snow, mostly blue sky and an empty mountain. Very sweet to say the least. I'll try to take a few shots tomorrow. Hopefully some work was accomplished in my absence. I really want to mount the tank and start work on the plumbing.

Curtis, when you get the Mogas truck running, be sure to advertise it with any and all LSA (and EAA) groups in your area. Almost all LSA & Rotax-powered aircraft can run Mogas, so you'll definitely draw a lot of them your way. I know that McKinney Airport here in Texas is one of the few locations in the Metroplex that has Mogas and it's been booming with activity as the LSA sector has grown because of it.

Well the truck got painted today. It's not perfect, but it will work as a fuel truck. I'm hoping to have the tank mounted by next week, so I can start on the pluming and get some decals ordered. I would still like to straighten out the bumper or get a better one. As you can see from the pictures we have installed a front mounted exhaust to keep the fire marshal happy.
I also talked with a person involved with the Mogas pump at Arlington. I guess the reason they stopped selling Mogas, was that their aviation fuel supplier had an issue with it.
Thanks for the advice on advertising with the EAA and and to the LSA crowd. Keep the thoughts and ideas coming, I'll be watching.

The construction of the truck is still moving along. Now that everything is painted I was able to get the tank set in. It's not bolted down yet, but it gives me an idea of how the pluming will work with the pump and meter. I can also see where the decals will fit.
Me driving the forklift and positioning the tank so it could be slid into position.
She's no beauty queen but I think it will get the job done.

Thanks for the progress report.
Holler back when she's on-line, ready to pump Mogas!

IT PUMPS!
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. At this point when I'm done with work I'm sick of even thinking about this truck anymore. I've spent the last few weeks plumbing the tank, sumps, filter meter and pump. I finally got my filters today after my order had been lost for a month, and I finished up the electrical today.
With all of that done and after adding the hose it was decided to add some 100LL and try the thing out. I was very happy to find no leaks in the pipework. The system pumps great. The only problems had were the nozzle leaking (which I plan to swap out) and some issues with the meter.
The next steps are adding the decals and placards, and getting the truck inspected.
We are almost there.

I'm exhausted.
I've been working on this project now for 2-3(?) months now.
It feels as though the issues just get bigger.
The truck passed the airport inspection. There are some issues that may need to be addressed to pass the FAA inspection, which I am working on now.
Our biggest hurtle to date has been the recent issues concerning liability and insurance that have arisen with our current aircraft fuel provider.
This may very well sink the ship.
I just talked to Todd Petersen today. He has dealt with this issue before, and hopefully he can see us through the final steps.
Any help or input that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for checking in,

What sort of FAA inspection? I used to work for & later was an Exxon/Mobil dealer. E/M strictly prohibited MoGas sales, even if it was E/M brand, even from a static tank. I later went with Shell & they have the same policy. If you're an independent dealer, you could probably do what you wanted
