Trade A Plane, 2nd March issue, $115, for Spit Mk-26, this is the down under design, 80% scale, that looks pretty close. Has 40 hours flying time.

Also a Me 109, (real, Spanish version with a Merlin) flying for $1.2M

Hey Bill,

That 109/Buchon would look real good next to your Spit! I have $20 that I will send to you to help start the acquisition fund! :D

Thank you!

Thanks, Taigh , what I need, besides a lot more of those $20 bills is a pirep. After you get about 10 landings in the 109, let us know how she handles. One nice thing about the little Spit replica is it seems to handle well and it lands slow. I haven't flown one, but have seen it fly and sat in one. Except for a very small strange prop, it looks pretty authentic.

Hello Bill,

I would love nothing more than to be able to give you a pirep on a Buchon or a 109. You stick by the phone and I will call you as soon as it happens!

There was a full sizeSpitfire replica that came through here (Stockton) and I saw it again at Toseburg Roseburg. Man it looked good. It had an Allison in it and she was a beauty. Wood wings as I recall.

Taigh,

This might have been the same bird, which flew at the Nellis Air Show last November.

Roger/Taigh, Bob DeFord's airplane is based out of Prescott, AZ. He's a great guy who did a fantastic job building that airplane. He also flies with a flight suit and gloves that were actually used in the Battle of Britain (no, not the movie either). You should pay him a visit the next time y'all are in Arizona.

Thanks for the heads up Gary,

At the Nellis show, the majority of the media photographers didn't realize the Spitfire was a replica. The wing gave it away when I was looking at it close-up..............
