During a quick trip to Niagara Falls, I was too late to be able to visit the Naval Museum in Buffalo, NY but managed to get a few shots from the aircraft.











I included the bad shot of the Huey, just in case someone would ask if it is still there.

That's interesting. I was there a few years ago, and they had each aircraft in it's own little pad area. It was nice. THey were all on the ground. I wonder what the deal is with putting them in the air like that? I love the PT Boat as well.

Interesting. Good to see the Fury painted and looking good. I remember a time when it wore Buffalo Sabres blue and yellow markings.

To bad you were not on time to go in. Does anyone know if the P-39 is still there?

He could have been there at the beginning of the day and it wouldn't have mattered. The museum is still closed but should be open within the next few months. They have compeltely overhauled that area and the museum has moved from their ugly, small building space to the new buildings in the background of the pictures. The P-39 is still with the museum and is located in one of the new buildings. Over the last few years, all of the ships, planes and military vehicles have been moved and are now finally ending up in their permanent location.

Odd to see planes on sticks with the gear down. Seems like it would be better to retract it to keep the birds out.

These photos are about 3 years old- Taken in the "Grand Strand" in Myrtle Beach, SC, of an obviously tortured Lockheed I think a PV-2.

In my originals, you can see where there was a dorsal turret at one time, and the nose window/glass... I think someone should look into getting this one to restore!

On the same vacation trip, I found a Beech C-45 on a stick in Daytona Beach, at another mini-golf course... What is it about mini golf that causes beautiful aircraft to be impaled in such a way!!!

It's been many, many years since I visited the Naval Park, and I agree that it's nice to see something that's at least
approaching an accurate paint scheme on the Fury. That whole 'Sabre-Jet' thing was actually pretty cool... for about
as long as it took to take the pictures. (And that's coming from a die-hard Sabres fan...)

Anyone know when it was repainted?

I was there last year. The Huey and the Lockheed are both still there.
