Hi everyone,

I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes with this announcement, but I just found out from the CV-Canso Yahoo Group that there is a PBY Canso that is going to be restored in Western Canada.

The PBY was recovered a while back from the Statidgi lake way up north where it had sunk, but it was left at the water's edge until a future time that a full recovery was possible. That time seems to be now and it will soon be brought to Fairview, Alberta and restored.

Here's a link to the most recent message about the project:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CV-Canso/message/574

It is said that the airplane is to be restored to airworthy condition and eventually participate in air shows across Western Canada. Pretty exciting news, I'd say!

Since I'm not involved in this project I am unable to offer any more info. Hopefully someone on WIX can share more info.

Cheers,

David

Speaking of new Canso restorations, anyone know anything about a new Indiana based project involving N206M?
