I am an EAA Lifetime member. My first flight was in a cub with a friend of mine the was doing Eagle Flights when I was 14. I became a young Eagle, and have been flying ever since. If you don't go to Oshkosh, or embrace what the EAA is all about, then Ifear you don't "get it" when it comes to what General aviation is all about. How are you going to bash a museum that is in large part static, for not dropping a ton of cashe to get one plane airworthy for one airshow. THey have flying airplanes that tour the country. Have you flown on one of them? Have you helped pay the way to keep the B-17 in the air. I have twice.

Whoa-Whoa-Whoa!! (Or however you spell it!!) I am not EAA bashing.
I am participation bashing. The EAA did not have a formal tent at GML. No formal EAA presence that I saw (I did say hello to Fred). I like my EAA to have greater presence at all major shows. I too have donated over the years & proudly hope to see them participate to spread the EAA mantra....seriously. The more people know about non-airline aviation, the better for all of us.

We need to settle this like gentlemen - over beers during AirVenture. Won't be long before I'll be sending out the official invite for a WIX Gathering at my place again. After dinner we can all head down to Bikini Nights and say 'ello to the friendly beer maidens.

Zack

I'll be at OSH, again - 10th year volunteering over at Warbirds.
Will try to make it to Zachary's...finally...this year.
Let me know if you need a "designated driver" (offered the non-drinker).

Ditto, Big Guy, as I think I've finally recuperated from the last one.

And I hope the rest of you appreciate the personal sacrifices Bear, Jaybird, Kaigun, and I have endured (and are willing to endure again) for the greater good of the WIX. 8)

Heck, that's nothin'! You should work for the CAF. We get hammered waaay worse and waaay more often than the EAA does. Some of it deserved, most of it not. Just my $.02 worth.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program. :)
