Neat..I thought those were actually decals, but this one looks to be painted on.

The Tiger was a decal... one of those sent to the AVG by Disney.
(note the dark edges where a clear coat was applied to prevent peeling)
The rest of the CATF insignia was painted on.

A fairly obscure fact to most folks is that the Tiger decals included a blue 'V',
as shown below on RT Smith's #47. (Formerly John Petach's mount)
But the 'V' was seldom used.

Another little-known fact, and this will be of interest to modelers and
artists, is that RT Smith's #77 did not carry the Tiger emblems because
the ship was written off in an accident before the decals arrived.

Coincidentally, I've just been asked by a friend to paint the CATF insignia
for display in his workshop.

I'll post some photos when it's done...
