I have the squadron signal book,"a pictorial history of the blue angels, u.s navy flight demonstration teams 1928-1981. Apparently there was more than one SNJ as Randy mentioned above, BUNo 112193 and they also listed BUNo 91047. They were named "beetle bomb" also. The yellow painted Bearcat was referred to as chrome yellow and I would assume the SNJ's were the same. Kinda funny too they had a dummy in the "Zero" they would toss out simulating a bailed out pilot and they would have a squad of marines "capture" him! The SNJ was used from 46-49.
