Hooks is a nice airport; I wish it did not have the control tower to deal with. The grill/snack bar is good. Do they ever have an airshow there? I might stop by on the way to Galveston. I considered going to the fight school there, but the housing situation was a problem. I met a nice guy Terry? Sunday, who is an airline pilot and owns a Stearman. He let me hangar for a few days at no charge. Another visit I spoke to the man who had the T-34 school there. I came fairly close to flying with them, but it was expensive. Late they had the accident when the wing came off.

They've had a fly-in/carshow before. But never an airshow. Parking would be a major factor...there isnt enough space. Same goes for ramp space & crowd line. Probably not the best place for one. But its a great little airport and Aviators Grill has good food!

The best part of this past weekend was a V-22 Osprey came in. I was in the B-17 out on a flight when it came in but I did get a chance to see the departure!! It was really cool!! 8) And we had an Apache buzz the field a few times! And not to mention a Navy T-6 II!

And thanks for the pics TIM!!!

Good job Tim. Good to meet another WIXer in person. I like the ones of the 'Bird on finals and the one of #2 burping a big cloud of blue smoke!
