I am looking for the POST-WAR sighting head to use on my T-28, having already located an original NOS armament kit sans sight.
The EXACT piece is the A-3(?) sight shown with the dial that adjusts the sight glass angle to optimize for gunnery, rockets and bombs. I will take any sight that fits until the correct one comes along, however.

The B1 (the one I'm looking for) was the one that was used on the N9 when it was fitted to P-51s. This is what was used before they went with the K-14.

Since the reflector heads for gun sights seem to be real hard to find, I'm wondering if anyone has thought of making reproductions. I know it would not be 'original', but at least it would complete the unit. I don't think it would be hard toreproduce if one had access to an original or the drawings. People building WWI repros are doing German compass's as we speak!

Sorry for hitching a ride on your thread. Does anyone have any photos of this gunsight reflector mounted in an aircraft?

I understand this unit worked with a N3 projector.

I think your reflector was used with the USN Mark VIII gunsight. The aperture holes on the base look very similar to a sight top that I have.

Digging through a pile of parts in our A-26 hanger, I found a N-9 sight body, with no guts or anything. Does have the tag on the side, says N-9, and some other stuff can't remember all.

Our group is looking to sell these excess parts if anyone still needs this part.

What I have looks like a big hollow tube with a square mount on the end.

Let me know if interested.

Just bought complete new never used N-9-1 sight with light box, bulb and reflector head as shown previously from Laurent. Even more impressive first hand than in the photos. It is perfect in every way.
Many thanks to Laurent - we met in Brussels and he was indeed a gracious host and extremely knowledgeable enthusiast.

I would now also recommend Belgian Trappist beer, and Belgium in general.
