1/72 B-32 Dominator

Not alot new to report. I about have the new main gear master done. I decieded to try a diorama and have been gathering set pieces. So far I have 3 jeeps, a duece and half, and 2 fuel trucks based on the duece and half. I am still looking for the 1/72 Academy Ambulance and tow tug, none of the hobby shops here in Phx have any in stock. Nice thing about the trucks and jeeps, they are all the same color, just assemble and paint OD green.

Great model!!- good luck- and i wish i had your patience!!-those pictures of the 'lady' are a bit of a shock- i didn't realise that the B-32 went into service! (hey, give me a break, there's not that much written about it in the UK!) BTW, has anyone else seen that ATF proposal with what looks like a B-32 tail?- it looks every bit as 'good' as it sounds!

I am making headway on the ground support vehicles, while they are easier to build I did find one thing about them I do not like, TOO MANY darn TIRES TO PAINT. It has taken me 2 to 3 times as long to paint the tires as it did to build the jeeps and trucks. So far I have completed the tires for the jeeps, (12), trailers (4) and one truck (10), I still have 2 trucks to go (20) more tires, will they ever end....................................
maybe I can make the trucks look like they were parked in the hood and had the wheels stolen, just put them up on blocks and be done with them.........

The Corsair photo is Iwo, note Mt. Suribaci in the background.

Nice B-32 pic, and always love a Corsair, but that is the wrong tall tailed Consolidated product in the background, it is a PB4Y-2 Privateer.

I don't think I've ever seen any of those in NMF, so I thought it was a '32. Hard to tell in such a small pic.

if you look close you can see the Erco waist turret and the star and bars are on the nose, above the nose wheel.

Actually, the Privateer is in the standard USN "three-tone" scheme, with dark blue upper surfaces, medium blue sides and tail, and white underside. You can barely make out a bit of dark blue at the base of the tail and around the cockpit.

The only silver PB4Ys I've seen are the postwar Coast Guard birds, and they were painted silver (since they spent a lot of time around salt water.)
