Yes, it has changed. The guys in the first photo had an easier time finding parts...

Heck Rich,

We do that every day at the "institution" I work at! We call it "Just In Time Inventory" and it works well. Right after you borrow the part from the plane next door and fill out four hundred forms, the piece you originally ordered is lost in shipment. :?

I like the newer fiberglass ladders with the standing platform like we have at Lone Star better that the creaky knee busters those guys in the first pic were using.
( I'm kinda opinionated on this since I've taken an 8 ft. dive off a rickety ladder. OW)

I hear that, Doug. The AAF would have never contributed to winning the war if OSHA had been around! :shock:

Warbirdguy asked which Fort Jack's photo showed--I don't know which aircraft it was, but doesn't the PSP parking area and ample quantity of mud seem to place these guys in Italy? Just a hunch, but many revetments in England had a hard surface, so I took a guess.

I do want to build a crew chief stand like the prop guy is using--that is a practical piece of equipment that doesn't take much effort to move around.

Thats right! OSHA is a Buzz Kill! Id like to say something nice about OSHA, but at this point in my life I fix aircraft still, therefore there is nothing nice to say, so ill reserve my right to expression and smile! :)
