I don't see what the difference is between what he posts and what Jack Cook posts.
Perhaps you might look a bit harder?
Jack's stuff is from his own collection.
He posts the photo, not a link, and gives the correct details of the airman in the photo.
He knows what he's posting about, generally, and answers questions to the best of his ability and experience.
When corrected or disputed, he's polite, and accepts he might be wrong.
He's happy to help and will provide details from his collection for anyone requesting that.
He also fails to act like a cross between HAL and a web-spiderbot.
Apart from that, identical.

I'm not interested in HG... and I don't look over all of Jack's posts, but most of Jacks are of interest, and while I'm not Jack's friend, I think it worth pointing out the difference between him and whatsisname.
Right, I understand that Jack is a very knowledgeable person about what he posts. I appreciate that he answers questions. I appreciate that he's polite (probably one of the most polite people here).
What I'm referring to when I was talking about not seeing the difference is the sheer volume of threads that they both start.
Why don't we start a stickied thread at the top called "Jacks Darkroom" or "Sergeant Schultz's Photo Hut". For quite a while I've been bugged by how many threads Jack starts. Not because of the content, but because of the way he posts But I didn't go into everyone of his threads telling him to stop. I didn't start threads complaining about him. I just looked at the author, and if it's Jack Cook and and it doesn't sound interesting to me, I'll just ignore it. I don't care. I don't want him to stop (honestly Jack, don't stop-a-postin), because sometimes there are things that do interest me.
