Looking for an engine can to transport a P&W 2800, or maybe an engine stand for same.....Gary

Gary: If you can't find one, a motor mount works quite well. All you need to do is create a bed for mounting it vertically. Use some 6x8 timbers. Thru bolt two to the mount and then lag bolt the other two across the first two. The cross timber should be on top of the other two when the mount is vertical, that way the engine can be moved fairly easily using pipe or timber rollers once it is on the ground.
If you use a mount to ship an engine, lag the two beams to the trailer deck and strap the fright out of the engine itself. It pushes the CG quite a bit higher than using a can, but as long as you take that into account and move accordingly, it works fine. We moved a pair of P2V QEC's that way and didn't have a problem.

I believe we still have a couple of empty cans here in Midland you are welcome to. I'd have to go out and see for sure though, but this week is nuts as we are in the middle of our Winter Staff Conference. Remind me later next week and I'll check it out for you.

Cvairworks, thanks for the moving tips! I need to get a saws-all on board the truck with me, as well as a charger for the batteries!
I plan on equiping my rig soon, so I can manufacture jigs and fixtures for transporting aircraft and parts on location..

I have a can for an R-1820, pardon my ignorance but I'm not sure if that will fit a 2800
