Gee, note the upper surface coloring is OD Green, not medium blue like a lot of Mustang owners paint them! Sorry, it's one of my pet peeves. I guess if you own a Mustang you can paint it any color you want.

One of my few claims to fame is doing practice force-landings at Bottisham in a Cessna 150 back in the late 1960s :)

But I bet it sure sounded and looked like Mustang to you!

It's hard to look at the old airfields disappear and also page through the book "Airfields of the Eighth"....

I love it when they fued too! Don't stop on my account!

jack's .25 bargain is a great view of two distict P-51 canopy types. Lou IV wears it's original -2 style (as does Sky Bouncer) while E2-S is fitted (retro-fitted?) with an early-6 and a DFF. BOTH a/c are P-51D-5-NA's of the initial D production block, although E2-S is newer.

BTW- note differing shade areas of "Green"/"blue" on Lou IV visible in this and other views, around the insiginia.

Is there a known date for the photo series? Camou places it post Aug. '44.
