As Steve Hinton once told me "Buy one of your own and you can paint it any way you want!" or something to that effect.

I saw it- I'm not so good with the post it notes.
The Hinton quote came from a paint color choice made in the past. He didn't want to hear about it then.

I took this pic at Dover AFB after BE vacationed there for about a month a number of years ago. A piston top land tore off. I changed heads and banks down there in a C-5 heavy maint hangar. It was weird to see the C-5 just about disappear in the scaffolding. That was a busy summer as we put around 170 hrs on it that year. Notice it has Frenesi's cap on the bottom of the rudder. Earlier it had a tail gear incident in Toronto.

Rich,
I really hate the blue on the P-51s. That being said the a/c
looks really nice. The blue looks darker-is it??
Remember that the blue P-51 issue is one of the fun topics here
and not to be taken to seriously. But when it's repainted.....OD right
BTW when were you at Marana? I used to come down ever so often on the EVG Lear.
Being friends with Mike (RIP) had it's advantages :!:
I remember a few people from there mostly Bill M. and Greg Klein.

Jack,
I was there from Oct 92 to Feb 93 I think. I spent some time at the Motel on base and then Maj (Mike McDougal) got an Apt in Tucson. It was hard to do the warbird thing but with a corporate mentality. I only met Mike a few times when he would come in to fly on a weekend. My B-17 flight was with Greg in the Left seat and Bill in the right. I think Greg is helping Maj restore an A-4 there at Avra Valley.
I don't have much control over paint schemes. This is what Jim Sr liked. We'll see what the future brings.
