I think if a fire does occur from what ever the fluid is (looks like oil) the can of Coors on top of the wing can be poured on it.

And you thought it wasn't under control.

 Yes, that absolutely NOT the thing to do. Maybe the photo was taken when cigarettes were still a fancy thing to do, no matter where.

Well, the clothing of these "technicians" would probably date the photo to the early 80s. The glasses, the Nike tennis shoes, and the shorts are spot-on.

Hard to tell if that fellow is lighting a cig, though. But he's assuming the standard pose for the act.

Now that's just plain embarrassing. :x
I can assure you that nothing like that is going to happen these days with CAF maintenance...at least if I have anything to do about it!

That sure looks more like oil than fuel to me.

Agreed, but still not a great example of professionalism.

Me thinks the eyes deceive. Look carefully at his right hand. It appears he has a blue wrag (doesn't match his shirt) a little also visible between his fingers, pinky and ring finger.

I think he is "huffing" to determine the origin of the liquid.

Looks like he could be trying to clear a blocked section of hose or a nipple or something maybe by blowing into it? And is that Thomas Magnum in the white shorts?

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

he WAS lighting up. That's why I took the photo, and then went and told a couple of squadron guys nearby (Mike Collier was in front of the airplane); he was kindly asked to put it off or to walk away. He did both.

Tulio
