Looks like part of a top secret Japanese project to build a single engined bomber from damaged B-25 parts!

In light of the current feel-good climate, Jack, they weren't the "losers", but more like the, um, "victory challenged". :?

In other words, we were the arse-whoopers, and they were the arse-whoopees.

Further, we were the Whooparse Can Openers, and they were the Whooparse Can Openees.

And, as the large banner sign at Barksdale Field, La. said on V-J Day, "They Started It - We Finished It!" :P

They CAN'T be losers these days when EVERYONE is a winner. Although maybe they should try harder next time. Not that it matters. In the next decade or when all the veterans have passed, it will be like the war never happened anyway, just like in the Japanese history books. ;)

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

In Photo 38, it looks like a strange variant of the C-47. Am I looking at it correctly and assuming they stretched the nose of the plane? I spy a few extra windows.

Cheers,

David

IIRC, the Allied code name for the DC-3 knockoff was "Topsy".
