I just wonder if it has any wings.

All I see is a horizontal stabilizer strapped to the side.

No problem, well have her flying in no time! In today's world, your not gonna find a cheaper intact P-40.

IMO you take this hulk and use it's ID. Give this rotten hulk to a Museum for a tax write off and buy or have someone build the needed parts.
Even using the original you will have a new build airplane due to it's condition.

I was down at Hal's place over the summer and looked at this P-40, the pictures are a bit deceiving as to what exactly is there! Essentially what you're looking at are splattered remains that were pieced back together like a big jigsaw puzzle to form the fuselage you see in the pictures. From what I saw, he basically fabricated a simple frame and started attaching the pieces back together to form the fuselage, just like the NTSB did when they reconstructed TWA 800. The wings were indeed there, but they too were in the same condition as the rest of the airframe, splattered and in pieces. One large chunk still had a .50 mounted in it, which Hal said still had a live rnd in the chamber when he recovered it! Overall it's an interesting display piece, but I didn't see much of anything that was usable beyond patterns, if at all.

Mid-air w/ another P-40, Hal recovered some of it as well. In fact if I remember correctly, the prop that you see in the pictures came from the 2nd P-40, and the engine was there too.

I asked myself why the painted shark's eye was where it was, like it had been glued there. Now you answered my question! :)
