B-25 ANNUAL, HOWS YOURS GOING?

Hey folks , hows your annual going? Heres pics of ours.

Left engine removal for blower overhual

Left Prop Pull for AD

Left Vertical Stab for minor Corrosion pulled.

Right Prop to be pulled for AD

4 Cylinders on Right motor for warranty work

1 Cylinder on Left motor for no choke left.

Some odds and ends and all makes for great photos!

Fascinating images... thanks very much for posting. Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you! What was the deal with the vertical stabilizers? I had no idea the top section was removable.

Yes and Bottom panels on Verticals are both removal for inspection purposes. Helps when your taking the rudder off too.

Great to see someone else working... Which B25 is this? The annuals that I have been working on have all gone well and if the ground ever dries out we wll drag them out for a run at the weekend...

What was the deal with the vertical stabilizers? I had no idea the top section was removable.

That's just a fairing nothing fancy. A couple years ago we had to replace the left verticle stab due to corrosion. I have it hanging in my garage now It seems my idea of in the living room over the couch was not well received by wifey

Well, it would sure make a nice dining room table here at the Austin Acres Homestead. So if wifey decides she doesn't want it in the garage either, then it can have a home here.

The first 13 they pulled off were OK

Come on Jack has it been hat long since you looked under the skirt of a B-25 lol?

I tried to talk my wife into letting one of those vertical stabilizers into the living room but she wasn't too excited about a 9ft tall Apache Head in her living room . I think it is going to end up in the hangar.

the no choke issue was found after being pulled for not so great compression check. turned out after the pull for that, that we found that out.

You had me really impressed there for a minute!

I can't say I envy anyone doing cylinder changes. Sounds romantic to the layman until you find youself on that ladder drenched in oil head to toe!

As my fellow mechanics will tell you...I dont find oil and grease, it finds me, Im like a magnet for filth! I see someone doing a cylinder change or rocker box cover change and I have to be in on it and I always turn out the oil covered winner of the day!!!

Aww, the upper cyls. aren't bad, you can almost stay clean. But the lowers, now that's another story...
