#2947 - Saint Louis - Apparently there is a F-86 displayed outside the business Bissell Auto and Body in Saint Louis. Can you Confirm? If so where exactly is it?

It is located across the Mississippi in Illinois at the St. Louis Downtown Parks Airport located at approximate coordinates (38.573048, -90.155933). I do not have exact coordinates for the building(s) that belong to Parks.

Jeff Funk wrote:Second, you're pretty close to the correct location for the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum. I believe the coordinates (38.725831, -90.506058) is slightly more accurate but I only visited once. Of course Al Stix or Eric Downing are the ultimate experts on this location. I believe Eric flies out of this field as does on the "Petie" mustangs.

There's three hangars there with the aircraft situated in each.

Jeff Funk wrote:Third, the monocoupe at Lambert Field in St. Louis used to be located where Concourse C meets the east end of the Main terminal. I suggest coordinates (38.742151, -90.155933) as slightly more accurate.
Jeff Funk wrote:Fourth, while driving by the Scott City / Cape Girardeau Regional Airport last summer (at 70 mph), I remember seeing an A-4 on the entrance road where it parallels I-55. I don't remember the exact location, but definitely at least one A-4. There might have been another on the ramp.
Jeff Funk wrote:Finally a minor point of precision. You listed a number of locations (Overland, Maryland Heights, Castle Point, O'Fallon, St. Ann, Edmundson and Florissant) under "St. Louis". They are actually small cities that are politically independent of the City of St. Louis. Of course, to folks outside the St. Louis area, they're all part of St. Louis. On the other hand, St. Charles is actually closer to St. Louis than O'Fallon.

Address is 3000 Chouteau, Saint Louis, MO 63103 near the SE corner of Chouteau and S. Cardinal. I found it by checking the online Yellow Pages and going to the bird's eye map setting; even then it took some looking to spot it because it's apparently just a fuselage. Looks like NMF with a yellow band around the middle.

There's some MiG-21 and F-4 bits and pieces on the south side of the main building.

Yep, it is already listed in the “off topic” section which included aviation themed museums without aircraft. I would provide a link right now, but it appears there is a bug in the Locator which is preventing it from being included in the list.
Jeff Funk wrote:I gave an incorrect coordinate for the Monocoupe at Lambert Field. It should have been 38.742151 -90.365059. These are slightly to the right of your original coordinates. Accuracy should be "within sight".
Jeff Funk wrote:As far as the Scott City / Cape Girardeau scooter goes, I think it was located on the road that runs between 37.239759, -89.571276 and 37.227868, -89.561234. My best memory is 37.229987, -89.564238. However, this was a quick sighting from last summer and as it was easy to spot from I-55, I didn't pinpont the exact loaction. My information should get folks close enough to spot it until you get better info.
