For me WIX still has been slow since this has happened. I am sure everything is being done to correct the problem/s. I just wondering how its coming along? Everytime I get back on WIX I gotta resign...even with it checked to be signed on forever. :?

Very slow.

I have found in the past several days the speed has been pretty close to what it should be. Today is a different story however.

Tonight, I have nothing more than a 5 second wait from post to post. Not at the speed of light but not too objectionable.

Hi Guys,

Its a combination of things, rapid growth and the ISP "upgraded" their server seem to have caused things to be has been really slow. There has been some improvement in the last few days but it is still slow at times. I am looking into a more permanent solution that might involve and upgrade to a virtual server. A dedicated server is out of our budget right now but a virtual server should help a great deal and allow us to do some other neat stuff.

Sorry about the aggravation and thanks for hanging in there.

Scott,

I belong to another forum that is also a "phpBB type". About the time we started having problems here, they started having problems at that site.
The owner of the site posted that the problems were related to a "server upgrade" done by his ISP host.

These problems went on for several days and then the site owner decided to switch from the current web host to a different hosting service. The new host is phpBB friendly, and has better settings for support, uptime, and server reliability.

Soon after these changes were apparently made, that forum started performing as it had in the past before the problem period.

I don't know if this relates to our difficulties in any way, I just thought I would mention it for what it's worth.

Scott, thanks so much for the efforts you provide to keep this site in existence and working for all of our enjoyment. We all appreciate it a lot!

The WIX is now, faster to load than it has been during the last week or so.

The problem now -at least for me- is that the page loads as a blank page, and I have to hit the "refresh" button a couple of time, until the page loads up completely.

Scott, I know what I pain it is to move or modify a forum. I use [b]SimpleMachines[/b/] for one of my forums. Granted, I don't have 1/10th of the traffic volume that WIX has, but still, it is an option.

Saludos,

Tulio

Scott,

The forum in question is the Vintage Leather Jacket Forum. Below I have included a link to the thread where the owner/admistrator is discussing the change of ISP.

http://cornellsurgery.com/phpBB3/viewto ... f=5&t=3324

The owner/administrator's user name is "siddhartha" and his first name is Chris. I will see if I can contact Chris and see if he can email me with the new ISP name.

Hi, I worked with the ISP monkeys and we found the problem and fixed it, though this might be a temp fix. We'll have to see how long it lasts.

As for the blank screen issue, just delete your WIX cookie and it should return to normal.

If you need to learn about cookies, go here:

Thanks TC, I'll look into it.
