I was blessed with a golden opportunity to photograph 2 classic trainers air-to-air. What's very cool is that they flew in formation too! :)

Many MANY thanks to the fine folks at the Inland Empire Wing and Third Pursuit Squadron of the CAF. Without them, and some help from a guy in Florida who brought us together, it would not have happened.

Cool shots! Do you happen to remember who the pilots were?

It was Terry Freedman in the PT-22 with Carter Teeters flying the PT-17. John Maglica was in the front seat of the of the PT-17. We shot it from the AN-2 Colt from the 3rd Pursuit Squadron of the CAF. We couldn't have asked for better weather.

I couldn't agree more. They were very gracious and welcoming. I am working on the edits to have more shots on my website and should have those up in the next few days. I am also working on shots from the rest of the Cable Airshow. It was a nice show.

I got the photos up in 4 galleries on my website for your viewing (or perhaps drooling) enjoyment.

Yep, the link is a few posts down from the pictures. I am in the middle of edits from the whole Cable Airshow and should have them up early next week.

One of the shots of the PT-22 solo has received a Screener's Choice award on jetphotos.net. I plan on posting some of the formation shots as well. Enjoy!
