The worst part about "Rat Patrol" were the clear plastic High School Shop Class Goggles worn by the German Commander. Unbelievable...

Does anyone else remember the "SUPERMARIANATION" Action Figure Shows like "CAPTAIN SCARLET" & "THE THUNDERBIRDS"?? I always watched, just to see them blow stuff up with Cherry Bombs & Gasoline!!
Ha! Ha! Wow, It was AWESOME!! I'd always try to re-create those explosions in My back yard.

I had a few beers with Paul Burke (Col. Gallegher) at a CAF (Harlingen) airshow many years ago. We asked him why Robert Lansing was written out of the script. Paul said he had gotten too cozy (I'm being PC) with the producers girl friend. Paul was a great guy to BS with.

What was the other "Combat" type show back then, Gallant Men??

There's a web site exclusively for "Combat", don't know the address. It tells what's happened to all the actors and other great stories. Their helmets were made of fiberglass to reduce the weight. Their contract called for them to have clean clothes every day before shooting their scenes, so they had to go to wardrobe and have them dirtied up for the scenes they were about to shoot.

Yes! I used to watch the 'Gallant Men' every week. I had plastic army men all named after the show's characters. Seems like it was only on for one or two seasons. I always liked Lugavich and D'Angelo the two loveable good ups. Sgt. McKenna-I can remember the actors face but not name. Combat was set in France- wasn't GM set in Italy?
GM's theme tune was almost identical to the French Foreign Legion's tune. Any re-runs available of it anywhere? Website links, dvd's?

I just never liked Twelve O'Clock High after Lansing left. I always assumed there were contract differences. Hollywood b.s. hmmph! The guy playing Maj. Stovall just didn't have the charisma Lansing did but I could relate to Sgt. Komansky.

And I'm still hoping someone else in this group remembers "Battlefield".

I remember Gallant Men opening credits of night time firing of big cannons, and a few of the actors, thats about all.

I just googled "The Gallant Men", and it was set in Italy. It had 26 episodes from 1962-1963.
