Recently I got this filter.
Wondering where it came from?
Dimensions (in cm) are 43,3 x 6,2 x 2,3.
Number on it is D12526

Paul,

Your part looks like an induction flame trap, based on the part no. you give more than likely Rolls Royce, possibly Merlin. I would have to dig out my RR manuals from storage to confirm. Others may confirm.

If it is Merlin then there are two per cylinder bank.

FITD,

I've been told it was recovered in 1951 from a Mustang crashsite which case I'm researching since 1995...we know everything about the pilot KIA in 1945 but didn't have any part of this particular ship !
Any additional information, maybe even a drawing from a manual, is very appreciated.

FITD correctly identified the part, as it looks the same than in the V-1650 maintenance manual.
