Man that is her. We rebuilt that thing from a pretty rough project. I went and picked it up at KCLE with a trailer truck. In the first load we hauled a nose section, cockpit, and other odds and ends. All of the gas stations we hit on the way back to Pittsburgh were filled with people asking what that was that we were hauling.

That's all right, Chuck. Perhaps what you actually wanted was pics of the newly restored PBM brought up from Lake Washington.

Oh yeah, never mind...

I'd really like pictures and an inventory of all the Lake Michigan stuff that's in storage that's not restored. They used to have a pile of SBD's and F4F's in their storage area, but I'll bet most of that is gone now.

That would be cool!!!!!

BTW, if your talking with the curator. Can you ask him what they have for N3N's???? I know the 2 on display but I was told that they had another 2 in storage. If you have access, PICS and a Bureau number would be great for my REGISTRY that I am working on for WIX.
Trying to eventually account for ALL 816 of the dash 3.

BTW, that IS me and that IS the Kawanishi on display at Pensacola. Pic was taken before the restoration. If I remember right, the airplane only had 3 hrs of flight time.

They had an SB2C, but the NASM took it back. It is not on display right now.

Below is a link to some photos I shot a while back showing some of the
material not on display. Some of the Lake Birds are clearly visible.
When you go down there ask if they are conducting tours of Bldg.
649 and sign up for one. They are not offered every day.

Nice museum great photography :D , but it still grinds my butt that the Navy still lays claim to aircraft that were previously stricken from their records as a loss and we've been down that watery road before. still grinds my buitt.....have a nice day  .
