Very impressive effort.

Don, please pass onto Rob that the aircraft's name in British Commonwealth use isn't optional and should be regarded as a critical part of the designation. There's no such thing as a 'de Havilland B.Mk.35' but there is a 'de Havilland Mosquito B.Mk.35'. Often the type is obvious, from the mark being exclusive to one type by that manufacturer, but sometimes it isn't, so the list needs correction. It is never usual to miss out the aircraft's name in British & Commonwealth use in these contexts. (And the 'd' in 'de Havilland' is lower case, except when it's the abbreviation 'DH' which is upper case. Many get that wrong.)

Still not perfect, but improving as we go!!

And the answers to last weeks questions;

Mike,

Yes the Hurrican for some reason was left off the list it should read

MkIIb RS1940

Django

As I would like to I can't do to the fact I've been ask by party's involved not to I hope you understand.

RickH

Correct he has 15 or 20 depending on how your read the FAA list

Brandon,

Thank You I knew I must have missed that one hey like I said its an ongoing list.

jspott

That is the first I've heard of those two aircraft I'm looking into it right now will report back

spookyboss

Yes he does its a French Build aircraft check the list again

AirJimL2

Hmm I'll have to recheck with Larry about the A-24, as for the CT-133 I'm still working on the jet list which is a big pain in the tushy do tot he fact of the different company's that David was involved with.

As for the other USAFM Hurrican David told me that he help wit the trade.

Doug

Thanks wow that brings back some memory's of the first time I was there, I would say that the photo are from 1981 the reason I come up with this date is because the SB2C doesn't have the prop on it yet and all photos I've seen of her she had the prop on it, these were after 81.

Warbird Kid,

Yes someone is working on such a project , I wonder who that person could be huh :-)

Tom,

Thats his Stinson V-77

Stratofortressflyer

Both the 26 and 24 are both out of annual and would need allot of work to bring them back to airworthy if you check the threads I'm sure there are a few that talk about them.

To everyone who has view or is viewing the list as I get some more information I will repost the list with updated information. Also I encourage anyone who has photos of any of the aircraft that David has owned over the years to post them on this thread as Warbird Kid has said it would be interesting to see them.

If any one wants to get in touch with The Colonel to discuss this list, send me a PM and I will forward all request

When researching or presenting this stuff, attention to the boring details is a measure of the reliability of the other data presented.

If Hurricane is spelled wrong, how do we know the serials are correct?

It would be a pity to have to disregard all this hard work due to a lack of care in presentation.

Again, no comments on the serials, listing etc, just the 'other' stuff.

I think it's the V-77 project that is/was at Geneseo as of about a year ago or so.

What was with all those P-39 bits. I imagine those were transformed into a few flyers, right?

No... Not a single one has flown. Yanks' aircraft was restored to airworthy but has never flown.

The nose of 1501 is on 1464. 1459 is the Maps aircraft. I think only two fuselages were brought down from Canada. The B24s are all nose sections. Two complete B24s were recovered in the 1970s from Canada but damaged on the trip down and scrapped, except the nose sections....darn shame!!!! Somebody correct if I'm wrong, but the only Tallichet P39 that's ever flown is the one The Fighter Collection in the UK has. It was sold in the early 90s to the Museum of Flying, where volunteers assembled it. Then it was sold to The Fighter Collection and rebuilt by Fighter Rebuilders. The C model nose section is one of the Patterson noses 42-35075, just four serial numbers from the CAF example that crashed.41-31856 is the other nose section Patterson owned. The other nose section was from a movie lot. I saw one of these noses at Hill AFB back in Jan, it was quite good to be reunited with it after visiting it many times at Chino.
