Just wanted to apologize to Django, I had asked him to design a t-shirt for WIX and he did so. However, it got caught up in the turmoil that is WRG/WIX and through poor communication with Ryan on my part it got sidelined and Ryan created the new merchandise based on a rush sticker design we had done awhile ago. I dropped the ball and did not talk with Django about this and so the first notification he got that we weren't going with his design was the post of the new merchandise. That was way uncool and I'm an a-hole for dropping the ball like that. So I wanted to publicly apologize to Django. Sorry.

And I'd like to apologize as well as I deployed the designs without knowing about your designs nor communicating with Scott that I was going to do so... I tend to over step my bounds at times. I certainly never meant to eclipse the work Django did, I just wanted to put more WIX merchandise up before the holidays and used the design that was already uploaded to the store.

Again, I apologize for the confusion and would love to work on putting your designs into CafePress for new items if you'd still allow us to.

Scott, I got your pm, thanks. And I really appreciate this thread as well. Thanks.

By day, I work at a packaging/marketing firm in Chicago and have been there for 14 years. We do lots of toy packaging and personal care packaging. It's never dull, but it's alot of similar types of work. So when I get to combine my love of design with one of my hobbies (like airplanes or hot rods) it is exciting for me. Especially when I can do that stuff for a good cause like the WIX. I didn't speed days on the Tshirt designs, but with a day job, plus being the owner/marketing director/designer for a hot rod shop, a band, a wife... well let's just say free time is precious.

So in the end, no worries. I'd be happy to work to refine one of the designs at some point into something that won't interfere with the new merchandise.

You've all seen Ol' 927. But here is one of my other charitable side projects. It's for a traditional hot rod site similar to WIX, called the HAMB (and I know there are at least 3 other HAMBers on WIX) and it's a calendar to raise funds for the website. This is my 4th or 5th year. It's a ton of work, but the results make me proud. And it raises a fair amount of funds to keep the site going. It has also won design awards for the last 2 years.

Here is the new one.

Anyway, thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Show us what you got!

I have seen a couple of shots of it and it looks really nice. I think a warbird one like that would be really cool too.

Nice work

For all requests of Django's other art, it's in the link he posted. He designs the HAMB calendar every year & does a phenomenal job.

I like the design on the blue T-shirt. It is simple, not as "busy" as some aviation T-shirts that you see at airshows, but tells you a lot: Aircraft from different eras, a web address. Simple. Cool.

Saludos,

Tulio

Tulio, you certainly hit the nail on the head, that was exactly the intent. Thanks.

Okay, I know it's not a poll, but I really think the first design on the green is stronger. Incorporating the planform of the -51 into the WIX logo is brilliant and so graphic. The 3 planes on the second one, while attractive, just has too much information, visually, and wix tends to get lost.

WIX is there in white, and vertical : ) [I'm joking, OK?]

Yup, I liked the design with the Mustang on it, too.
