I agree, thanks Gary.
Besides you can easily fix the roundel once if the day comes it is airworthy again and you are outfitting it with a mobile PX, turret, etc...

Agreed. I hope we've also established (which is why I posted some photos) there's been a fair amount of variation in accuracy in most Swordfish restorations.
Of course, if you don't paint it right, when they catch you, the roundel police rip off the markings and chuck the 'plane over the side. You should see what they do with the spray gun!
Jokes aside about avoiding 'the roundel police' knowing a few myself, there's nothing to be defensive about, and something to take advantage of.
With the study many people have put in, plus the internet, and particularly WIX, there's a tremendous resource on tap for getting great help with schemes, often free. It's worth mentioning (again) that it was thanks to WIX that Django created the Ol 927 artwork for the B-24 crew - a great win for everyone.
The days of not knowing how to get it right should be over, but it does need owners flagging up with a post here, for instance, to take advantage of that data.
As the operator of Warbird Color Services said to me - "I have yet to come across the owner of a flying Spitfire, Hurricane or Mustang that was anything less than very concerned to ensure the paint finish on his aircraft was as accurate as could be achieved." Everyone wants it to be as 'right' as possible, so rather than splitting to 'us' and 'them', let's take advantage of the offers of help.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't have a clue that the roundel was so inaccurate, or would cause such a fuss by posting the pictures. However, the discussion that's been going on about it is one of the things I like about WIX. We can usually have a well tempered discussion about things and learn stuff in the process.
