In that first photo, isn't lead not supposed to look back, everybody looks at lead but lead usually don't look back, that is rare :!: Cool photo's anyway Jack :D

Post war, my dad was in a 'killing time camp' at Hitchcock, Tx. where they mothballed brand new Avengers and Helldivers by the ....load, many of them straight from the factories.
He didn't actually participate; he was one of a few who were told they would 'volunteer' to cook. He did so and was spared a summer of hard labor in the Texas sun on a concrete ramp. Their names for the a/c in question would probably draw me a reprimand from the CO here though. The rest of his tales from that posting sound more like one of those comedy WWII movies prevalent in the sixties.
