One other thing I wanted to thank you for, about six or seven months ago I read your Signature:block at the end of your posts (What are you waiting for? JOIN UP!) So I did, I joined the Dixie Wing and have been having a Great time! PLANEOLDSTEVE

Congratulations Steve! They have a great wing. Thank you for your kind words. I am very proud to have had a part in getting you to join. That kind of makes up for some of the hassle of maintaining the thread! It wouldn’t hurt to update your signature info. I met a couple of your fellow members when they flew in to CMA a couple of years ago in their new helicopter. Keep us all posted on things at the Dixie Wing!

Dan

HGUCSU,

You say a remake of “The Hunters” is “in production”. What is the name of the production company? Just FYI Clay Lacy, (neat little Lear Jet all set up for camera work) a Hinton brother, (hundreds and hundreds of hours flying in movies) Carl Scholl, (Photo Fanny also a good camera platform) an Academy Award winning director (knows and works with Spielberg) and a well know Hollywood actor (owns a couple of war birds on I think is Korean war vintage) are CAF SoCal wing members. We may be able to set something up so that “your people” can get a hold of “their people” and you both can “take a lunch” and work things out.

Love ya baby,

D

Via in production i mean currently as i have stated above a few times we are logistically working out some of the details what is needed to stage such a shoot.

I have been informed now that we are making a short film, trailer maybe if thats the wording.

Neverless if we do this it will be $$ to a degree but same time we want to make it authentic as we can get.

I have advised my film buddy of the Clay Lacy option and that we need at least maybe 3-4 Sabres for the idea to work.

I am seeking how we are going to fund the lil trip :) and etc as most movies which i was hoping this could be, nowdays need to have the whole thing made up before hollywood might even touch it..

A bit of trivia. The movie, "The Hunters" is THE aviation movie that Steve Hinton saw as a kid that prompted his interest in warbirds and flying. I believe he said that it was his favorite aviation movie of all time.

If you could contact Steve Hinton for help in the project, he might be more than willing to help because of the emotional attachment he has for this movie. Just a thought.

My buddy is a film industry fellow and has worked in it for many years. He and I are co auhtoring the script to work out what a korea era war movie could be like in a nutshell.

he has apporached me for techincal assistant as he found me on a forum. We both have a idea what we need and just need to get things "right" and we both together make a good team we have found so far.

He knows the movie side and i know the war side basically, he knows a good stuff but i know alot more details about what is military correct.

He is currently telling me all about how we are going to try and get funding .. until we get funding we can look and debate all we want about the plot and real stuff until the cows come home sadly.

We are looking at maybe within few weeks knowing if the project for the short film is workable.

He does know about Clay Lacy but says Clay currently is outside our budget just :)
