Is anybody going to the Randolph AFB Airshow the first weekend of November?
I'll be there all weekend with the DAV Outreach Program displaying LSFM's B-25 "Special Delivery".

This may be my first year in about 8 or 10 years to miss it. :? I live about 5 miles away and was scheduled to take the L-2 over there - but I've got a deadline from my boss for when I have to be done with my attempt to finish a commercial license, and I think I'm going to be down at Stinson instead. If I get a chance I'll see if I can't drop in. Tell the other LSFM guys hi for me.

Ok, I'm officially bummed. I took the Commercial Written this morning - and passed, but not as well as I would've liked (I had gotten a 96 on the last written practice test...). Then I didn't get to fly because of a mechanical issue, drove as crazy as I could within the speed limit to get to Randolph AFB. Got there at about 3:30pm, and thought I'd be ok since the website advertised gates open until 6pm, but the MPs wouldn't let me enter, and got mad at ME for holding up traffic (because I thought that they should've let me in. Oh well. At least I tried. Hope the show was a good one.

The LSFM aircraft that supported the Tex Hill Memorial did a fantastic job before flying over to Randolph. (Also CAF Gunfighter). These guys are true professionals and we really appreciate there displaying these classic machines.

Had a great time - brought our MC-130H - watched the warbird review up close both days (wandered off from static display duties) - incredible.

Great weekend - thanks!

Ryan, trying to reason with MPs is sort of like putting money in the Coke machine and trying to get a Pepsi to come out by talking to the machine. Congrats on the commercial.

Yeah, I figured that out...
The website CLEARLY stated gates open until 6pm, as does the newspaper I have in my possession. I was thinking I should sue them for emotional damages - enough to buy some airplane, I think.
The sad thing is that if I hadn't been too busy with the commercial, I would've been flying in there with the L-2 (actually had to cancel). Oh well...

Wish I had known you were down there...would have come to say HI.....The military static stuff sure seemed a long long way away though. I think I flew over the area several times when going to downwind for photo passes and landing.

Did get to DAV tent to tell Jerry HI though.

Well, I'm a dummie & didn't realize this post was here beforehand...day late & dollar short as they say.

And yes, it was a very long walk when I wasn't manning the static (managed to sneak away both days for the warbird mass gaggle!

Just home - had some HALO dudes to throw out the back of the plane down at Kelly today!

I guess I missed everyone!
I was pretty much stuck at the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Tent with my wife all weekend. Met some great people and it was neat to see one of the bases that my father was a flight surgeon at in the 1950's.

Lady 0-2:
I saw your O-2. It looks great. I just wish I was at the tent when you came by. Maybe next year!
Great show but we lost the F-15 Demo due to the stand down on Sunday.
Most flying was done with the crowd looking into the Western Sun, so it wasn't great for taking photos.
We did get a chance to ride into Randolph on "Special Delivery" after the Friday Press ride in New Braunfels.
Blue skies,
Jerry
